SAMSUNG in Purikura

Well, I happened to notice that SAMSUNG LCD panel is used in the Purikura in Japan. Kind of interesting, and as you can see, it will probably be good to invest in the company now, see what kind of stock price SAMSUNG is going to have next year!

There will probably be alot of SAMSUNG devices and panels used in cellphones and smartphones!

Well, just my thought.

Microsoft Said to Be Unveiling Windows for ARM Chips?

An interesting topic from Recorded Future.

"Microsoft Said to Be Unveiling Windows for ARM Chips

The operating system would give Microsoft another way to attack the market for tablets and phones, where it's lost ground to Apple Inc. and Google Inc. ARM chips -- made by Qualcomm Inc., Texas Instruments Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. -- are used in most smartphones, as well as Apple's best-selling iPad. - The new product will debut at the Consumer Electronics Show in January, said the people, who asked not to be identified because Microsoft's plans are confidential."

This is quite remarkable if Microsoft really put out the Windows for ARM chips, because ARM is probably the most used microprocessor for smartphone devices nowadays. I remember the days when Microsoft's Pocket PC used MIPS, SH3, ARM and StrongARM...

Android getting ever so popular in Japan

There are going to be many Android devices hitting Japan before the end of the year.

I am glad that Android is FINALLY (?) getting popular, and I sometimes see people having IS01 and alot of Xperia SO-01B.

I hope that Japanese makers can catch up with the very fast cycle of Android OS.

Memory used in Macbook Air 11.6inch - 2010

According to Gizmodo Japan's article, Macbook Air 11.6inch 2010 uses ELPIDA Memory's 2GB J1108EFBG-AE-F.

Interesting. Japanese Memory Maker must be VERY trustworthy.

Oh boy. Playstation Move kills Mii.

Oh boy. I found this through Engadget, and thought it was kind of interesting. I guess it's not an official ad, but I guess you get the point: Playstation Move is better than Wii remote. (?)

Cray-1 Emulator!

I've always been fascinated by supercomputers, and though I don't really own one (lol) I am always looking into the technology behind it.

Well, here it is. a 1/10 miniature version of the famous Cray-1 supercomputer.

This made me want to make one myself. Oh well, I do have a Linux enabled PS3....

Saw an Electric Scooter for first time

Today, I saw an electric scooter on sale in Minatomirai's Nojima in Jackmall.

It was from ProStaff, and I thought it is surely a sign of changing time. The scooter can run 35km per charge. I will post the picture later on.

Courage Under Fire

This is quite an old movie (not SUPER old) which I like, called Courage Under Fire.

I bought it in a local DVD/Bookstore place which I like to go, and it was sold for only 500yen.

Quite cheap isn't it?

iPhone 4 vs iPad - Trend

Looks like iPad has more momentum than iPhone 4, at least for now. Well, I think this is quite true, because I think iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS does not change that much as in apperance.

Well, not much, like say, between a Macbook Pro and an iPad.

iPad is becoming popular in the education world and the ebooks on iPad is also popular. I guess the shortage of iPads are adding momentum as well, you know, you want something more when you can't get it easily.

Just a note.

T.K. 2010

Companies worth investing.

This is a list of companies I am thinking are worth investing in.

1. Intel Corp - for the Logic LSI
2. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd. - for the Logic LSI
3. Samsung Electrics Co., Ltd. - for the Logic LSI and Memory
4. Toshiba - for the Memory
5. Omron - for sensors
6. Eye-fi - for innovative wifi enabled SD cards - expect to see a huge boom or to become a standard in the next few years.

Me 2.0 and my future

I recently bought a book called Me 2.0, which I bought in Kinokuniya in Sakuragicho, Yokohama. The book is very interesting, especially since it was written very recently, and is relevant to the lifestyle I am having.

This year, like I am saying from many years before, will be the year I will travel to U.S. . The main place I will be visiting is Massachusetts, but probably I want to visit New York and California as well.

This summer, I will be continuing to attend the IT engineer school I entered, and save up enough money for this trip.

Hopefully I will be able to visit Googleplex. :) (And yes, I did get this rare chance to go to the Google Shibuya office in Japan which was awesome)

A perfect handshake is formialized. Uhmmm? yeah.

What is this about? A perfect handshake?

Well, yeah, I guess it's important for you if you are a businessman meeting so many new people. But this made me laugh.

Thinking of where I should go for travel.

I am thinking of going to Guam, or Massachusetts for travel.

Probably I'll visit:

Cambridge, MA - Top of the list for now.
Guam - Very realistic but maybe after Cambridge.

Free Audiobook is FREE!

Did you know that you can download Free by Chris Anderson for FREE on iTunes?

Yes. It's legal AND it's on iTunes.

Just follow this link.

I am downloading the audiobook right now on my Emobile connection!

Some IT Trends keywords in Japan.

Some IT Trends keywords I am thinking which will grow in Japan from 2010 onwards.

DLNA & Wifi

Sharp

iPad - Yes. I must admit iPad is going to be really big in its market share. I am hoping to develop applications for iPad, and possibly some ebooks.

iPhone 4 - Yes, another Apple product. BUT, this time, it might do pretty well, especially since you can do FaceTime.Although the market share of iPhone 4 compared to iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS is still relatively low, I know the accessory world will be a boom.

Android 2.2 - Although I seriously doubt Softbank will allow Wifi Tethering option on their network, I think Android 2.2 will bring a boost to the Android Market. I am hoping that there will be alot more Android devices that will come out from Japanese companies, and not just the Taiwanese company HTC and Sharp.

Google TV - Yes. This should be a big hit if this comes out as planned in 2010. I can see a world where the internet enabled TV will become a very normal thing, and people will use Google to search just about any TV show or content they want.

For a rich Google TV experience to take place, SONY should work on making simple interfaces that load FAST. Also, to turn on the TV should not take more than 1 second, because if you have to wait longer than that, I know users will feel the stress in using, and revert back to the "regular" TV.

Youtube supports 4K content !

Do you know about 4K video?

Well I didn't, until today.

4096 x 3072 is the resolution of the 4K, and that's pretty amazing. And Youtube is supporting the resolutions already.

Try out the original resolution. I doubt that it will play smoothly since the bandwidth it consumes is enormous, but give it a try if you DO have the 4K equipment.

Bought a Leather Case for iPod Nano 5th Gen.

Today, I bought a leather case for the iPod Nano 5th generation. The cool thing is there is the Kalvina strap, so you can attach to the belt hole.

The maker is Elecom, by the way.

This ultra mini PC by a Korean company, Yukyung Technologies is very interesting.

It looks like a HP200LX in the modern world.

Only 388grams, (lighter than Sigmarion III !) It runs Windows 7 Starter.

Sony Ericsson Yendo

Sony Ericsson Yendo is a Walkman Phone by Sony Ericsson, with a touch screen display.

Seems like it's the first walkman phone with a touch screen display, supports 16GB microSD.

It will be interesting if this device comes out in Japan, (mostly unlikely).

Bought a DVD.

I bought a DVD starring Denzel Washington, and it's really cool.

You'll have to guess which DVD I got, it's something related to time travel.

lol that's pretty easy.

The tech that comes out in this movie is so cool, about changing the view 360degrees and stuff. Kind of like Google's Streetview, only a few steps ahead of time.

A headphone I'm insterested in.

I am interested in this SONY's headphone, called MDR-PQ1.

Not that I like pink, but I like the "pop-ness" of this headphone, and I find it quite interesting for SONY to take this approach on these type of headphones.

The price is 12,390yen.
